E-bike tour to Landshut Castle

Ride your e-bike along the Emme. The tour is very flat but offers plenty to discover along the way. Pass water rapids on the way to Kirchberg and Utzenstorf. Landshut Castle in Utzenstorf is a fascinating destination for an e-bike excursion, offering both historical and scenic attractions.

Landshut Castle originally dates back to the 12th century and has been rebuilt and extended several times over the centuries. Today, it presents itself as a harmonious blend of medieval architecture and baroque elements. The moat that surrounds the castle is particularly impressive and gives it a fairytale atmosphere. The drawbridge and the fortified walls are a reminder of its strategic importance in earlier times.

A rich collection of historical furniture, works of art and everyday objects awaits visitors inside the castle, documenting the lives of the aristocratic inhabitants over the centuries. The lovingly furnished rooms provide an insight into the living culture of past eras and bring history to life. The Knights' Hall with its magnificent tapestries and imposing fireplace is particularly worth seeing.

Another highlight is the Swiss Museum of Game and Hunting housed in the castle. Here, visitors can learn all about the history of hunting in Switzerland, the local wildlife and the importance of nature conservation. The exhibitions are interactive and offer exciting experiences for both adults and children.

The extensive castle park is another jewel of Landshut Castle. The cozy castle café serves homemade cakes, regional specialties and refreshing drinks. In fine weather, guests can take a seat on the terrace and enjoy the view over the castle park. The journey by e-bike takes around 30 minutes. The ride home then takes you back to Burgdorf via shortcuts.
